Is it likely that i would be able to get credit from a supplier from day one?

As a new business it would be difficult for me to pay the suppliers until the job has been completed & paid for by the customer, so was wondering, is it common to recieve supplier credit as a start up company? Or do they always insist on money upfront until a trusting business relationship has been forged. The business area i would be looking into is carpet fitting.

Thanks in advance

Differs from company to company. If your supplier is a small company, they are more likely to insist on Pro Forma payment to begin with, while a bigger company may be more able to offer credit initially.
You need to realise that you are a far gteater risk to them when you have just started out.
