Notaries/Solicitors

HELP! I have an interview on Monday with for a receptionist postion at a Noteries in London. The problem is i have no idea what they do! Do Notaries do a similar job to solicitors. I would appreciate any help.

Thanks for the website, it was useful. I did surf the internet before i posted the question. Didn't find much, i was hoping someone could explain it a bit clearer and explain how Notaries are different from solicitors.
