2nd job?

hi im in full time employment and im thinking of getting another job part time ...do i need to tell my current employer??

When I worked for a bank we had to declare all second incomes, just in case we were in financial difficulties and therefore more likely to steal!
It will depend on your terms of employment - many employers will insist on you telling them if you have another job. Check your employment contract.
kags is right. This is because both you and your employer have responsibilities under the Working Time Regulations to monitor and limit the number of hours you work each week for health and safety reasons. If your combined jobs do not take you over 48 hours per week on average your main employer may not be worried, but if you do a more dangerous job, for example, they have a duty of care to fulfil, so are entitled to ask and know.

If in doubt, tell them. Why wouldn't you?
