problem page

Would it be possible to have a topic simply concerning any individuals personal problem? Now I have an internet friend who I have met who lives abroad and is causing me a great problem - where should I post it? Body and soul? Under family? under law? or under society? under body and soul or under the numerous new topics that have suddenly appeared here? I have a problem and it does not really come under relationships (as we are both hetro) or relationships (as we don't have one) and its not family (as she is not) but a problem page that sort of encompasses all problems that cannot be discerned under simply one heading might be good to have . Please discount Body and Soul as reading all the posts and replies it seems to me to be be run by a few great friends who all obviously communicate out of forum and ridicule all posters who do not float their boat and who as fellow posters/offline friends all back each other with their replies to some who seem to really have asked for help. I'll prove my point because I await the known names that post on body and soul to all critisize my comment and blacklist me here for all eternity.
But for the majority of legitimate posters with a big sort of problem who eally need help or advice that they can't find that fits under any the many new headings they might prefer to post under a section called "problem page" saves them being ignored or attacked by the "in crowd" who do not feel that they posted under the appropriate heading that suited them to be sarcastic to - in fact, the "in crowd" could be banned from even replying to questions raised by those who needed help that did not fit in to their rules and reguilations.
New Ed - I hope you are going to ban some members who seem to feel they run this forum because the minority are ruining it for the majority.

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.you will probably be torn apart by the harpies for posting this but i take your point, 99% of what i post is utter nonsense i do however try and steer away from commentating on a genuine thread where someone needs important advice, if i have nothing constructive to say. What really annoys me though is when you see a post called "im bored" with 167 replies and someone who is green with a genuine problem lingering at the bottom of the page with 2 replies simply because they are not in the sycophantic botty licking gang
Been following a lot your posts Bob and I love your droll humour that often defuses a situation or puts the whole thing/problem into a whole new perspective. You have talent and you have tact and diplomacy.
Crete, I am not privvy to "the gang thing" to see what you refer to, but there is (to my mind) a clique circle who think that they run this place and who only accept what THEY consider to be serious questions and if one of them does not like the question then the whole gang team up to discredit the poster and drive them away. Its a dangerous game when they play with peoples emotions as obviously some are not as eloquent as others so thanks to the Bob and the Crete's in this world for trying to be serious and helpful and unbiased.
I think you two are very conscientious members who give advice to others from the heart and I thank you so much for your comments. I think this new Ed should ban some members unless this new Ed thinks that he/she can leave the running of this place to a few members who feel that they rule the roost and who think that that their word is the law here as to what newbies can post and expect to get a serious answer to. I have friends here who have joined and then left because a few well known names have driven them off because what they asked and how they asked it did not go down well with the clannish offline circle.
I bet I get banned for daring to face up to a few members. I bet if I don't get banned that I am blacklisted here or come under ridicule from the same names who might answer me who as a sect have blacklisted me but it is a really great forum and its such a terrible shame that a few think that they run it for the benefit of themselves and their own sick entertainment.

zimzam, your coments are not new especially from new members, dont allow yourself to be intimidated by anyone or even a group of users, everyone has a right to use this site, just keep your head down and you will soon realise who you can have a good relationship with and who you feel is best avoided in your opinion.
good on you for stating your opinion zimzam. Not a lot of people that have the guile to stand up the the big boys and gals of AB. But fear not..there are those users like myself and bobtheturkey who will come to your aid should you be ganged up on...
And to those people who are thinking about "blacklisting" mr or mrs zimzam for his/her opinion you gonna have to deal with me!!!
...feels all macho... hehe

Hmmmm, not quite who this 'gang' is either. There are groups of eople who for whatever reason have become friends away from AB but it certainly doesn't mean they "run the site" !!!
Everyone has the right to post whatever question they wish to do so on 'ere, and as long as it's a genuine question, doesn't use the dreaded text speak and I know something about the subject, I'll answer.
Sure I also contribute to the 'sillier' threads, but I hope that this isn't what Im all about here.
zimzamWhy don't you ask your question again? Under the main heading of Body & Soul? Or perhaps People & Places?
And no you won't be 'run off the forum'
:-)
