l normally have tuesday and wednesdays off each week, my manager has told me that l have to work boxing day (tuesday 26 Dec), can he do that or can l refuse to work my day off

It depends on whether your hours of work are part of your Contract of Employment. Your CoE is not one single document - its many things. Is it written into a letter you have received from the employer, perhaps?
