Tax Return and calculating tax

Hi. I am working my way through my tax return form at the moment. I was just wondering , do I have to calculate my tax now as it's after 30th September? I always thought I did but reading the front of the Tax Calculation Guide it indicates I don't. Does anyone have any experience with this and know whether I do or not? These things confuse me.

the way to do a tax return is online
fill in the self assement form.
you fill it in for the year 2005-2006.
thisis the tax return for this period
if you fill it in honestly
they will calculate tax due/refund.
they will then action it
all on line.
then for 2006-2007
you fill in after april 2007
but before jan 31st 2008
this is for tax year 2006-2007.
for more detail go to
hmrc.gov.uk.
click on self assesment.
they will take you
through the forms
to fill in on line.
