spayed kitten
6 Answers
my 6month kitten was spayed 2weeks ago and has been fine, was mad when i got her home running about had to shut her and me in 1 room to keep her calm then she started biting her stitches so took her vets and they gave me an e.collar but it was too big she just pushed it off with her paw so had to stay up with her all day and night for a week!! (things we do for animals!!) took her to the vets to have the stitch out and the nurse noticed a lump of fluid on her flank under the stitch the vet had a look and said it could be hernia, sent me home with her and just said keep and eye on it and ring every couple of days with an update the lump has gone down alot but is still there it doesent hurt her and i can push it and she just looks at me doesent bother her has anyone else had this or heard of it coz im really worried.

If it's fluid, the vet might put a drain in to prevent it happening again, but it's still a simple procedure. Kitty should be up and about and getting up to all sorts of mischief in no time!!

Hi - when I got one of my cats from cat rescue - he had a hernia and he was a lot younger than 6 months old - and really tiny and scrawny. When I had him neutered I had the hernia done at the same time, it all went great and have never had any probs since. Apparently he was born with this hernia. Don't worry as I think a hernia op these days is classed as minor surgery and your little kit will be fine.

hi the vet has sent her home thank god!! said to keep an eye on it and see her in a week, said it could be a hernia or a reaction to her internal stitches so gotta keep her in and keep an eye on it and see him again in a week if it gets bigger or she's in pain go back straight away but hopefully it will go down and that will be the end of it!
