I recently had an accident at work (chemical spill on foot causing a burn), after a trip to hospital they advised me to rest my foot and get the dressing changed every couple of days, also they would assess me and give me an idea on how long i should be off work for. All i need to know is should my employer still be paying me full wages because it happened at work?

All my husband got after cutting his thumb off was ssp.
You would get paid as per your contract if off sick, which in many cases is SSP (and fairly minimal).

It could also depend on whether the company was negligent, whether there were proper health and safety procedures in place or whether it was simply your own fault or an accident.
don't forget , depending on circumstances you maybe liable to compensation.wait untill you know what your company do over pay etc before mentioning it, so they don't get the hump.
