From your post, I assume you are in the US and he is British. Sorry to say, but your government (and so is ours, perhaps to a lesser degree) is arbitrary to say the least, and seems intent on removing individual rights in the name of anti-terrorism. Methinks they might have given Stalin a run for his money!!!
Apoligies if I offend. I may not be correct, merely expressimg an opinion. Maybe a civil rights organisation, or possibly the British Embassy could help?
Good luck, don't give up. 'Nil illegitimi carborundum'

Thank you , upforit, just to let you know my partner, and me are British . We have friends who live in atlanta usa, my partner has 2 criminal offences, they are driving with no insurance.
Like fools we went to USA embassy in london to apply for a b2 visa, to cut this long story short, the embassy refused him the visa, they said he could not show sufficient evidence, of strong ties to the UK.
We think that this is rubbish, as he took lots of paper work with him to prove his ties. thank you for your advice upforit. love megan. xxxxxx
