Salary - Fibre

I've recently passed my City and Guild 3666 - Fibre optics in internal/external enviroment. I'm about to start 4 weeks work placement (track side) with a hope of full time employment once completed. My question is what sort of salary could I relistically expect. I have just come out of the army so have no experience of negotiating salaries and don't want to be taken for a ride. Thanks in advance.
