How many right angles on a football pitch?

This is my sons homework, he has handed the answer in, he said the children in his class have a different number to his. He said 32 right angles. Does anyone know the answer?

24 - i made it 12 each half. Mind you, I'm not sure about those bits at each end, I'm only counting the playing area.

Hopefully, the teacher will let the children know before half term what the answer is.

The flat playing area has 24.

If you also count the goalposts you will get 32.

You could add on another 4 for the corner flags and even more if you count the flags themselves.

Then there are the stanchions that hold up the nets etc.

If you mean the pitch only, then the answer is 24.

When not including the goalposts you get 32. In most places on the pitch wherever you get one right angle you can also get one on the adjacent side, if that makes any sense.
If you look at the picture I used, look at the penalty area. To the right corner (next to the words) you have a right angle and immediately next to it you have another. I hope I have explained this right.

Yes 32 is what i get aswell, like bird_81 says there are 2 right angles per line at the goal line one inside the box and one outside it, just as you would count 1 right angle for each side of the halfway line making four on the halfway line, two each side..flipping eck This is hard to explain !!! Hopefully you can see where i am coming from.???

It's 32 if you ignore the actual goals , (the goal mouths are not part of the pitch). Each goal has another 6 so the answer is either 32 or 44 depending on whether goals are included or not.

Then of course there is potentiall another 2 per corner flag.... so add another 8 so the max is now 52.

I suspect though for the purposes of a childs homework they are talking about the bit's that are painted.

Then of course they didn't specify which kind of football..... they certainly are ambiguous at that school.

So 32 it is for the flat pitch.
