Sorry, I meant per month. Chance would be a fine thing!
Change job! That'a a scandalous salary - I pay 200 more than that in tax alone every month.

Yes - you're worth a lot more than that!

Bet you're not a lab tech though!
I suppose that's the answer - move job if you think you're wroth more.
915 per week is an excellent salary, I'm surprsied at your complaint. The pay line for school support staff is determined locally by the Local Authority so your question won't help as different authories have different levels of pay. The Government has discussed having a national pay scale for Local Government workers as teachers currently enjoy but I don't believe that will ever happen as regional salaries are considerably lower than SE pay and they would have to be harmonised.

If you have a correct job description and that has been evaluated then you have little remedy. If you think your job has changed since your JD was written then you can request, in writing, a regrading.
Sorry Cookaburra I didn't scroll down to see your corrction. You haven't said whether you work full time, part-time, full year or term-time with equated pay. Nor did you say what level technician you are. I have 6 levels of technicians. Have you tried speaking to your professional association. ASE?

I don't know what level technician I am., thugulike! I am level 3 under the County's guidelines, I work 37 hours per week, 40 weeks per year. I have about 8 years experience as a Chemistry Technician and have a BSc Hons in Applied Biology.
You should be having your job evaluated under Single Status if you work in an LA school. Have a look at your job description. If you haven't got one then ask for one. That should state what level you are. There should be a set of job descriptions showing a clear career progression from Trainee to Specialist.

You need to approach this in an organised way and the first step is an accurate job description. Then check it has been evaluated by the LA. I suggest you do this in writing, keep copies and ask for written replies.

Good luck
