Hey there, I'd appreciate any help here!

I'm 23, a graduate, and desperate to be a paramedic.

I know I need to do some time as an 'Ambulance Care Assistant' then 12 weeks training as an 'Ambulance Technician' to finally be allowed to train as a Paramedic, which is my dream, but basically, what can I do till then?

I've had a full driving licence since Sept 2006, I'm looking into volunteering for St Johns Ambulance, and I've been trying to lose weight and keep fit. What are the weight restrictions?

I really want to do this, does anyone have any advice?

Move quickly, time is running out!

Look on the NHS Jobs website and apply for every trainee paramedic/trainee ambulance technician job available. Different services have different requirements for entry regarding fitness - I didn't have to do a fitness test, but some ask for beep tests and all sorts.

http://www.ambulance999.co.uk is a useful source of information regarding employment in the ambulance service.

Best of luck, hope to see you on the road.
