national insurance
1. what is the amount you can earn before you pay national insurance?
2. i work for the NHS and also do bank shifts can i have two national insurance contributions taken from my main wages and sometimes some taken from my bank pay does anone know if they are allowed to take 2 separate national insurance contribution from my main pay?
3. the letters for my mational insurance contributions are letter D this is usually the higher amount and letter A do these letters mean anything.I would be greatful for any answers

2. If you have more than one job with different employers, each employer has to deduct National Insurance Contributions if your gross pay with both or either of them is above the ET.
3. D is used for contracted-out (of State Second Pension) Class 1 NI Contributions and A for not contracted-out Class 1 NI Contributions.
