Can I get a job as a librarian in Scotland?

I am thinking of taking up a course in Librarianship this year, however, I live in Scotland and hope to find work here after I qualify. What are my chances of finding a job?

They actually do a course for being a librarian?!

Eh? All you need to know it the alphabet! I mean, come on! Not exaclty hard, is it?!

Yes they do. You can do a Masters in it!
My sister's a librarian at the national archives in Edinburgh and she's got a Ba Honours. Crappy pay though.

Yeah she does actually. To clarify, she's got a degree in librarianship and publishing. Good luck!

Thanks for your support jollygreen-I plan to do to a postgraduate diploma hopefully leading to a masters in library and information studies.
