I am thinking of applying for a part time job in Aldi but the ad says to submit a CV. I can download a template of the internet for this but it is 20 years since I have needed a CV and given that the job is for a store assistant I dont think I need to do anything too highbrow with my CV. I was thinking of keeping it basic as am not applying to be Ch Ex or anything. Do you think that is the right approach or will they hold it against me if I play down my previous jobs?
Thanks

Thanks folks, sound advice as always! I recently applied for a part time job in Tesco but I was still in my old job mode and realise I spoke like I was the 'big I am', as you would do in an interview for promotion! Needless to say I didn't get that job, ha, ha, boy did mrwarpig take the p*ss out of me for that one!
If you are unemployed then you need this job. so you dont need to play down prev jobs.
Put your name and address at the top then a profile section underneath stating something like
'A reliable, efficient and friendly individual with experience in various industry sectors. Confident public-facing manner.
Then work history (brief)
Then education
