bernie good luck it can take six weeks and upwards you fill in forms they end up anywhere other than where there supposed to go beware the words the forms will go upstairs you will end up in a right financial mess by the time your money comes through and if you have to applie for housing benifit your forms will also go you know where yes up stairsssss your stress levels will go through the roof and that is if you have one by the time your housing benifit comes through which they dont tell you that they wont pay all your rent so you have to pay it out of your unemployment benifit when that comes and when you have filled in all these forms they will send you loads of identical forms to the ones that went upstairs asking have you filled in your forms do what i done save your mind and look for another job goodluck

If you give up your job claim straight away (there ARE 3 WAITING DAYS)
A decision will be made whether to sanction your claim based o the circumstances ie payment may be withheld for several weeks after that if you still meet the qualifying conditions you will get paid from the date when your sanction ends
Hope this helps
