I went for a job interview today, and everything went really well despite the fact that I was sacked early last year (details are in an earlier post) The interviewer was really understanding of the circumstances, and throughout the interview was referring to 'what your responsibilities will be' etc. At the end of the interview, she said that the owner would want to see me, but he was with a client, and was I ok to wait. I said that I was. Anyway, after a couple of minutes, the owner walked past me (with the client). After the client had gone, he went and spoke to the interviewer who then came over to me and apologised that the owner wouldn't be able to see me today after all, as the previous meeting had over-ran, and the next client was already here. (This is all a bit long-winded I know - bear with me!) She assured me that they would phone me to re-arrange. So, do you think that this is genuine, or (like me!) do you think that the interviewer has told the owner about my dismissal and he's just told her to get rid! Comments please!
OH troubled, I remember your previous post. I don't know what to make of that but I sincerely hope that it was genuine. Would there have been time for her to explain the situation to the owner? What position did the interviewer hold in the company?
LOL psychick, couldn't sleep, the snoring was too loud (mr warpig, grrrr)!!! But its ok as I am not working at the moment so can snooze any time I need to.
Lets gang up on her bigmamma and make sure she gets more sleep! lol
Make mrwarpig sleep on the sofa for a start! lol
Ive had to call in sick today.......even had to get a mate to take my daughter to school or else she would never had made it in today!.......so Im actually heading back to bed myself :(
Pleased to hear you are fine warpig , I too am a light sleeper and would be kept awake by mrwarpigs snoring too , you poor soul.:-) xxx
Troubled , I do hope you get your interview , don't give up hope yet love . :-)
I would not start thinking negative about it. It was probably a genuine reason. And they have assured you that they will phone you. Let us know what happens
Well, there was someone in the waiting room, so maybe it was genuine! The interviewer was the manager, so I would imagine that she has some say...hmm. Thanks for the replies - I'll let you know.
Just was thinking that it is unlikely that the owner would make a snap decision based on one persons say so, with out speaking to the applicant first. Keep us posted troubled.
The one interviewing you seemed very keen and must have some say....a huge say actually....if she was interviewing you alone. It sounds to me it is probably up to her at the end of the say.........good luck!
why are you telling an employer you were sacked..never tell them that, tell them what they want to hear. and doctor yr cv to work round having to give them as a reference. I've done it loads. they rarely check.
Trip - I understand what you're saying, but I am a terrible liar! Also, I worked for my previous employer for so long (so very long!) that to leave them off my CV would leave a huge hole in my skill set. How would you get around that?
