Work/pay/conditions/leave vary from person to person. Generally contractors arent treated so well as core crew. As an example my boyfriend works 2 on/ 3 off rota, benefits include health and dental plan with bupa, share incentive scheme, final salary pension and a great salary which I will not disclose. He gets �500 per day for any delays offshore, �40 per night nightshift allowance (not too bad when working 14 nights). He is still young and has a long way to go in the company so this will only improve over the years.
Offshore work is hard graft but you are well rewarded for it.
