employment advice please

6 months ago I resigned from my job after 5 years because I did not like the way my head of dept, was doing his job,all my grievences were taken to our h.r. department but they did not follow through my complaints , but my boss at the time was happy to offer me a role lower than the job I as employed to do he said I was at fault and not up to the job (all lies} as other members of staff saftey was involved I left. I have now been told he has been forced to resign as enquries into the way the department was run were not as they should be do you think I should contact the emplyer and ask for my job back do I have a case to do this thanks GypsyX

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Of course it is OK to apply for your job back, just say you had no option but to resign because of circumstances at the time - leave it at that and let them come to their own conclusion. It would be best not to go into a whole lot of grievance about your ex-boss as they may feel it to be a reflection on the firm in general. Good luck.

you can however raise this with citizens advice or an employment solicitor and they will advise you as to whether you could take this case to an employment tribunal, this could technically be classed as constructive dismissal. ps you need to go to a tribunal within 3 months of leaving the job. hope this helps.
