What course are you doing? I.e a teacher training degree or a PGCE?
There are a variety of routes into teaching that include school based training programmes as well as university based Post graduate training courses and undergraduate B.Ed. or B.A. (Ed) programmes that will include qualified teacher status. If you are going for the latter then the programme tutors should organise school placements for you. School based training programmes are graduate entry programmes and are normally run from university sites and again the Education department in the university will be able to advise. If you are set on a school based training programme you might also consult the Local Authority within which you wish to train. Some schools will pay you during the period of training.
