can partner be fired?

my partner had a falling out with his floor manager last week and he walked out of work. he got a call from them saying he was suspended with pay til next wednesday when he will have to attend a meeting for misconduct. could he be fired from his job ?

It's actually regarded as leaving your employment without the legally required period of notice, so unfortunately your partner should prepare for the worst.

Depends on his previous conduct and his length of service. If he has been there over a year and has not had issues before, he will probably get a written warning, inless he can demonstrate that his floor manager was behaving unreasonably.
If your partner stays calm and rises above any possible annoying input from his line manager, he should show himself to be the better person and that may have a big bearing on the outcome.
