Holiday Entitlement
2 Answers
I'm sure I read in the paper yesterday that standard holiday entitlement was being increased from 20 days to 24 days as well as the minimum wage for an adult increasing to 5.52.
Can anyone please point me in the right direction for confirmation.
Also, my contract with my current job says 20 days, will I have to ask for a new contract?
Cheers

However, this change is to stop employers rolling the 8 statutory holidays into the annual entitlement, so if you get 20 days now in addition to the 8, your entitlement does not change. If your entitlement is 20 days including stat leave, it'll change.
If this is the case, at some point your employer may need to change your contract, but the law is greater than your contract, so they'll have to adopt the change immediately even if they don't put it in writing.
