Our company was bought out about 1.5 years ago. Under the previous company, a colleague was given an enhanced maternity package after 4 years employment.

I am still on my previous company's contract (but under the new company's ownership) and now I have been offered SMP (statutory). I have 10 years full time employment, i.e I have been given less than my colleague for double the length of service. I have disputed this asking for at least the same.

The new company's handbook says that they offer SMP but enhanced is available at the Managers discretion.

Do I have a case to push for more than just SMP with the new company?
