Becoming A Doctor

Hello everybody. Just a quick question for which I would appreciate any help.

Im going to turn 23 next month (time ticking away!) And I am desperate to get my career on track, Id love to become a Doctor. However, looking through some Med School website, a lot of them refer to having great GCSEs etc. I have all the vitals (Science, Maths, English etc) at grade C but have not yet studied A2 levels. My question is, is it possible for a 23 year old person to start a Med course without the qualifications ive mentioned and perhaps do an extended year which would bring me up to A-level standard before starting the 6 year course?

Having a dream is fine. But you have to balance that against the hurdles, obstacles and financial hardship caused by a long period of intense study. People do change, and demonstrate abilities to pick up their academic career later in life but the signs aren't great.
What about a lower level qualification to start with - paramedic/ambulance career?
