I dont know what site to put this on.

Anyway I am medically retired about 4 years now and receive a private pension from the Civil Service - also Incapacity Benefit.

I do believe I am allowed to work 16 hours a week. Now if that is true - would I be taxed in my new job as I already pay tax from the CS pension. Also would Incapacity Benefit people see that if you are able to work 16 hours a week you could work full time.

The rules on 'permitted work', while on Incapacity Benefit, are here:

HMRC look at your total 'earnings', which includes pensions and benefits. Once the total annual amount exceeds your tax-free allowance, you pay tax on everything thereafter. So yes, any income from 'permitted work' would be taxable.

thanks for that Chris - but I answered on another site. Since it so hard to get Incapacity there are too many risks to take as I dont be well some days. ta ra
