With a week to go our workforce has been informed that they must work Good Friday, is this enforceable?

As far as I am aware it would depend upon your contract of employment.

My hubbie works every Good Friday but has a day owing him to take at another time.
If you normally work on a Friday then yes, they can make you work. There is no automatic right to a day off on a bank holiday.

Have you got the Tuesday of the following week off?

I have the Monday and the Tuesday off officially - but I also booked Good Friday off as one of my own holidays, because I fancied getting drunk Thursday night..
Royal Mail used to work good fridays - we got either double time or time and a half plus a day in lieu
