My very close friend gets married at the end of the month, and I have very little cash at the mo. I really want to get them something quite special as I say we are close....We are only invited (as with most people) to the evening do as it's in a registrars on a Friday afternoon. Any suggestions?

Panicking a bit!

It's not really enough at all is it? Am actually panicking so much, am thinking of not going now and feel guilty..... :(
20 not a lot? of course it is.

Crikey, my best friend had to go in with a group of friends to buy a gift when i got maried but i was most pleased with the fact that she came to the wedding and celebrated with me.

Dont feel you shouldnt go just because youre worried about the gift
how about a nice card and a voucher for like John Lewis or similar
when my best mate got married i paid for her to have her hair and make up done on the morning of the wedding.

If she doesnt usually have manicures then perhaps you could do something like that and spend the time with her before the wedding?

I know and it's silly I will go, just I am very much a person that will start looking for something suitable now, and won't stop until the end of the month - I LOVE giving nice presents and especially nice cards.........

Would be lovely to think that with 20 I could get something that will not be too tacky and will last for life!

redcrx - my sentiments exactly, I actually offered her for me to do her hair etc (as I am quite good at that type of thing), and she admittidly isn't. She had already booked someone as it turned out. That would have been on top of a present etc......

Vouchers - again, good idea, but fancied something more personal?
Hello roosi, hope you are OK.
How about a pair of champagne glasses (not expensive ones) but you could glass paint them yourself then make a pretty charm for each one to represent your friend and her partner.

DO they need anything (permanent and long-lasting) for the house? A funky clock, or something for the kitchen/table?

In any event, your friend will be thrilled you could attend :) Presents are way down on the list of reasons why most people get married!!x
What about this type of thing?

If they wanted to add cups, mugs etc. then they can - if not, its a nice keepsake.
