Communicating with Hoover

In January this year I made a complaint to Hoover regarding minor damage done to the skirt of a settee and a chair by my new U3485 vacuum cleaner. The complaint was supported by photographs and was also made in person to a service engineer who visited to sort an unrelated problem. I made it plain that I was not seeking any financial recompense; merely asking for advice as to how to rectify the problem. I have had an acknowledgment of my complaint and two stalling letters from some so-called Technical Operations Manager, saying that he cannot comment further until he has received comments from the Quality Control Dept.. Despite two chasing letters, including copies to the Marketing Director all I get is apologies for the delay and his assurance that "no discourtesy is intended". I find it discourteous in the extreme for them not to give me a proper reply after four.months. I have tried to find the name of the MD but apparently (according to the switchboard lady - who would typically know these things) the MD has left and not been replaced. I have sent all the details of my complaint to another Senior Marketing Director but he, like the others, has chosen not to reply.
Does anyone out there have any ideas as to how I should proceed? I might add that I have confirmed all names, titles and addresses so I am confident that my letters have been sent to the right place. If it was a serious financial problem that I could not get resolved I would write to the Sunday Times. Are there any "name and shame" newspaper columns that deal with bad manners on the part of household name manufacturers?

He then published them in a book and made a mint.
Personally I think there is more to life than pursuing such enquiries. Maybe Hoover thinks the same.
