Laying cables in the road
1 Answers
Can anyone tell me if this is the sort of wage you can earn for doing this job? Apparently someone I know is earning 200 a day for laying cables in the road and if he works weekends gets 150 for each morning! He is unqualified and unskilled as well! I find it hard to believe and wonder if it is true whether the job is likely to be secure. Does anyone know?

I know there are lots of safeguards (I have to ensure them as part of my job) but it is still a hazardous occupation and they should be well paid. I have no idea whether 200/day is realistic though. I would expect weekend work to be paid at a higher rate, given they are giving up their Saturday morning (so that the disruption to the week day road users is minimised),
