On the application you are required to declare any criminal offcences. If it was say 15 years ago and was relatively minor, say driving without care and attention, is this held against you? Or if there are several minor offences (you know what cocky youngsters are like) is there some kind of points scoring so that if you are over a certain score you can never get through, even though you are suitable in every other way?

Declare EVERYTHING... if you don;t and you get in then it will only come back to bite you and the last thing you want is it coming out in court.

Fine, but what I am asking is the application points scored, eg 20 for being a minority, 20 for a degree, 10 for A levels, minus 5 for each offence. etc., so that when the applications are sifted, offences have a negative effect.

doesn't work like that... all sections looked at on their own merits. Criminal convictions / proceedings dealt with as a separate issue.
