Company has Fined me �500!!

At work i damaged two cars, so my company had to pay insurance excess to get the cars repaired (Company is a very large car dealer) , I am basically being made to pay the �500 from my salary at a rate of �50 per month which i simply cannot afford, this policy is not in my contract of employment, the damage was an accident and i feel im being 'made an example off'

If it's not in your contract (and you've not signed any agreement, prior to the accident, relating to such deductions) your employer's actions are unlawful. Direct your employer's attention to this web page:
