Contacting someone in the services

I'm writing a novel and need my character to track down someone in the army. They have a name and regiment. How would they then find the person's contact details?

Contact the soldier's Regimental museum, they may be able to help, however, a service persons details might need to be kept secret for security reasons

If it's the British army, your character will need to contact the BFPO service at Mill Hill or go through the Royal British Legion
