Bathroom cleaning products

I am having my bathroom refurbished at the moment and want to keep it looking spick and span for as long as possible.

I have to admit I'm a bit slack when it comes to cleaning, but really want to change my ways! I get rather overwhelmed by all the cleaning products on the market. Many products claim to do specific jobs, but I'm sure I don't need to buy half a dozen items to keep my bathroom clean when one or two will be sufficient.

What do you swear by to keep your bathroom sparkling? I'd like to be reasonably environmentally friendly if possible.

I use the CIF foam bathroom spray. Spray it on, leave it for a while, rinse it off and its sparkling with no real effort!

Although I'm not too sure how environmentally friendly it is lol but you can't have everything!

Actually, I think it's a big con that you have to have different cleaning things for different rooms.

I just buy a cheapo bottle of cleaning liquid, usually Morrisons own brand ad use bleach in the loo. You could spend a fortune on different products if you chose too.

I always prefer the more known brands than cheaper stuff as does a better job and lasts longer.

All you need is some domestos bleach (this is much thicker than cheap brands so dont need 2 use as much) then like Caj1 I use cif on sink/shower and round loo.

I just put cif on wet cloth, wipe then rinse off.
Top tip for getting silver taps and loo handles sparkley-wipe with cif/cloth then get bit of loo roll and wipe off wetness till completly dry-makes them really sparkle!

blue toilet block in loo keeps it fresh and then just any bathroom cleaner doesnt have to be name brand

I think Mr Muscle bathroom cleaner is great, easy to apply and quick to remove.

Thanks for your answers so far. I also think that different products for different parts of each room is a con! I currently use CIF foaming bathroom spray and agree it works well.

Has anyone used ecover toilet cleaner? I bought it once, but it didn't seem to do anything, so went back to using thick bleach.

Vinegar mixed with washing up liquid really cuts through limescale on tiles/shower doors as bathroom cleaner adverts claim they will. Don't use it with the Cif though, because I think that has bleach in it(?).

When cleaning the bathroom i use Tesco/Sainsburys disinfectant (not the value one) in some water, use it to clean round the seat etc then chuck it down the loo and scrub the inside of the bowl with the tesco value toilet brush! (incidently this disinfectant is also good for cleaning kitchen and bathroom floors!)

Then use Tesco brand toilet duck type product round the inside.

For the surfaces i just use Cif on everything else except my bath (which being cheap would be scratched by abrasive cif), I just use an orange scented spray on cleaner.
