Does anyone know if a police officer with the Lancashire Constabulary can work beyond his 30 years service and after he is 55 years old. In other words will he be allowed to work until 60
Absolutely. There is a scheme in the Police where retired officers can return to work. I am not sure of the name of the scheme but I have a colleague whose husband has returned part time after retiring.
As far as I know, it depends on your rank. I think below the rank of Inspector (someone can correct me if it's actually Ch, Insp) you can stay till you're 55. The 30+ scheme allows you to stay past your 30 years service but only till 55. Officers over the rank of Inspector can stay on till they're 60.
