Jobs for 14yr olds

I am 14 yrs old and would really like a job, I am considering going round the local shops and asking there. Does anyone know what I should say ?

The previous information is incorrect. At 14 you can work in a shop but the hours are restricted. you could only work 5 hours on a Saturday and two hours on a weekday/Sunday - to a max of 12 hours per week. Again, there are restrictions on times. Whoever employs you would need to get a 'young employers' permit from your local authority - or something like that. Your best bet would be to speak to local independant owners - forget the chain stores - they'll not have you until you're 16. Local greengrocers/market stall holders etc would be a good start.

I thought you could only have a paper round or such like at that age. Don't you need to have a national insurance number to work in a shop? You wouldn't get a national insurance number till you are nearly 16.

I have tried a paper round and only succeded in making myself very ill from lack of sleep !
If I can't work in a shop does anyone know where else I might be able to do ?

you should just go around local shops and ask them if they would employ you for Saturdays or put advertisements in local news papers and see if anyone could respond.

where did you do paper rounds? wat was it like?
and also try making a cv! go online and look how to do it. and just ask shops you would like to work in weather they do saturday jobs and usualy they would say not now but give us ur cv and wel call u if anything comes up :)

Government website will give you all the info you need with regard to young workers. As I've said before, you can work in a shop at 14 - it's down to the employer.

This will sound really stupid but what do I put on a CV

On a CV you write your interest and stuff and write down any experience you have anywhere and stuff like that. You can google a CV example and try to do it. But it is really simple. ;)
