As Lil O'Lady suggests, self-employment may be the best route. Ironing services are often popular but, in the current economic climate, many people are cutting back on the 'luxury' of having someone else iron their clothes.
Nearly all of the 'work from home' jobs advertised on the web are scams. However, you might want to see if Deya is currently recruiting route checkers.
Deya is the company which delivers Yellow Pages throughout the UK. (They also deliver some other directories, etc). I work for them, on a casual basis, as a team supervisor. (So I can assure you that they're a respectable company, not scam merchants). They use route checkers, working from home, to call people to ask if they've received their directory. (All phone calls are routed via a free call to Deya's phone system, so the route checkers don't have to pay for the phone calls).
