Referencing a film in an essay

I'm writing an essay where I compare a book, ply and film of the same story and I want to reference a particular moment in the film (the 27th minute to be exact) how do I do this? do I just say "at minute 27.00..." or something? Its for uni and they seem pretty strict about that kind of thing so I'd be greatful if anyone out thre who knows could let me know!

There are usuaully a number of different cuts or versions of a film and 27 minutes in one version may not be 27 minutes in another version.

I am not sure what the right answer is, but cant you just describe the scene in the film and that will indicate where it is, without actually saying the time.

I think I might have to do that in the end! Just to stop any confusion, it's a specific version of the film that my tutor set me, so we'd be looking at the same bit if I told them what minute I was on about.

I haven't come across this in academic essays but usually if you just say "at 27 minutes" it should be clear.
