Need some advice just been laid off

I was just wondering what the job centre will do for me if i go in and tell them that i have been laid off.This isnt permanent,i could be back at work within a couple of months.I just wanted to know if my situation would be considered different to those who had pertinently lost jobs.

you should get job seekers allowance during the time that you are layed off.
