Help. I need a little white lie. I am expecting a new credit card to be delivered to my home by courier in the next few days. Its not new as such but the date has run out on it, so its just updated.
The trouble is my husband thinks I paid off this card a couple of years ago and he could well be here when its delivered. How can I explain it ?

You would like online help in deceiving your husband?

guess it looks that way
just cos its paid it doesnt mean they have closed the account, the new card wont have the balacnce or anything on the letter so just say you asked for the account to be closed but they havent, then pretend to cut it up, or say you will keep it for emergencys etc
explain it the same way as you explain the arrival of a montly statement :)
Yes it does...
I hope you get really ******* up. Little white lie eh? Deceive the husband, oh it won't matter. You could try talking to him about it?
have an envelope already on your person and switch the envelopes as the courier gives you the one with the card in

but make sure the envelope you switch it for isn't from your lover , that would be disastrous!
why do you have to lie about it anyway? who pays for it?
I am with Gormless, little white lie leads to more and more lies, tear the card up, be honest with him and you can get throught it, lie and he finds out the trust has gone.
are you sure its coming by courier? Mine usually just come in normal post.
credit cards are a mugs game, you would be better off cutting it up and paying off the balance, a good marriage is not built on deceit

oh my gosh, some of you are very judgemental.........but mostly right.
I never set out to deceive him, it just sort of happened. I dont want him to be disappointed in me, thats why I havent told him.
is this answe bank or agony aunt bank...why is it someone asks a question but gets unwanted advice on how to run their life, they want an answer not moral guidance
he would probably think more of you if you came clean. sit down, talk it through..... he may be disappointed, but he'll appreciate your honestly.. and it's the best way for him to find out.
so if i asked.................. how do you make a bomb?

think about it Einstein!
So you think people should be more forthcoming with advice about deceiving partners?
osterly tell him that you will give him head if he goes and shower. when he is in the bathroom lock him in. if he gets desperate to get out sing him a lullaby.

hope this helps
its called looking at the bigger picture not shoving moral opinion. the bigger picture is that if the debt is not dealt with it will get bigger and ultimately found out. thus growing into a big black lie.

she could say that the card being delivered is not for her but a friend/relative ect nominated her to collect the card on her behalf, some companies do this

that will be 2 lies now...
yes i know lying is wrong, osterley knows lying it wrong thats why she is on here in the first place! otherwise she wouldnt be feeling guilty about the card being delivered.

im just saying who are we to judge

and if you can really compare a hiding a credit card to a making a bomb you really need ur head looking at !
the majority of people on this site are not 10 year olds and do not need to be told what to do, its osterleys decision to hide it.
on.knowledge - i wasnt having a go at you, i actually thought your answer was the best reply on here, but it just goes to what i said is true.....

people jump the gun and get on there high horse for no reason
