hi, im supposed to sign on tomorrow, but im at my brothers place and i forgot that i sign on on wednesday. i have booked a return ticket for saturday!

What excuse is the best?

i was looking for work every day and i dont want my efforts to go tto waste. please help me.

the best excuse is that you had family problems and have b een out of town and use you ticket to prove it

I thought you could have 2 weeks holiday on this benefit provided you didn't leave the country (unless you had an interview lined up) Can't you use some of the days?

Can you sign it at another Job Centre tomorrow and say you were just looking further afield for jobs this week (or had family issues to sort out)

If you are going away within GB you have to tell the Jobcentre BEFORE you go so that excuse will not work. If you had family probs you would need to show why they were so urgent that you had to be away for the period because the claim will be ended unless you can show what is called "good cause" for it. The chances are the claim will be ended.
