religious holidays.
6 Answers
I had a dream (set in England) that i was the owner/manager of a restaurant and that only of my employees was asian (dream didn't realy say which religion) who wanted time off for his religious holidays. So i said that as long as he takes them off as holiday leave, because they're not bank holidays, he could do it, but there were more religious days than there were holiday days available, so he took me to court for discrimination ect saying christians get religious days off and its not fair that they don't have to take leave to celebrate. But the drwam ended and was wondering what would happen now, and what do you think would happen in the future if this dream actually happened?

As Rojash indicates, religious holidays (and bank holidays in general) have no special significance in employment law. If someone normally works on a Friday for example, their employer has every right to insist that they attend for work on 25th December this year (at normal pay rates) and to discipline them if they fail to do so, even if that person is a devout Christian.
