Legal Status Retired or Employed?

I am in receipt of a company pension, after taking early retirement at 55. I am now 58 and employed part-time in an administrative position at a local college which is hourly paid. Some weeks I work less than 16 hours, others more than 16 weeks. What is my status when it comes to the drop-down menu on insurance websites; retired (as I am in receipt of a pension which is my major income) or employed?
It makes quite a difference to the premium to my car insurance.

As you no doubt realise, insurance premiums are based on assessing risk factors and statistically the insurers have discovered that retired people have less accidents.
You need to address this question to the specific insurer to ensure they realise your status. You may find that the underwriters are happy to regard you as retired. Then again....

If you are employed - you are employed .............regardless of whether or not you also receve a pension.
