Hiya! I've asked my old employer for a reference (its for my university application) but her mum's just had a hip replacement so she asked me to write it and she would sign it for me etc she just doesn't have the time to write it.
What can I put in it? Bearing in mind it's got to talk me up for my uni app. Would anyone draft me one up so I can get her to sign it?

If you go to your library you'll find books with sample letters (ask the librarian) but basically is should be headed with your full name and say something like
the pheebster was employed by (name of company) from date to date. His/her performance/attendance was good/exemplary and I have no hesitation in recommending him/her to you.
According to the poster on the wall at the Jobclub, there are basically only 3 things an employer wants to know:
Can she do the job? (experience, training)
Will she do the job? (reliability)
Will she fit in well with the current team? (social skills, willingness to learn, give & take)
Hope this helps!
