A private rough note made by my partner that has been found and kept by my area manager
1 Answers
I had a problem at work regarding unfair holiday rotas and told my partner. He wrote down rough noyes about it, purely for our personal use, but somehow I took it to work in amongst all the stuff I usually take to work, and it must have fell out my bag. It was found on the floor and now my area managress has it. She confronted me and I told her it was personal property, never intended to leave my house and was not intended to be used other than for personal reference by my partner and I She has kept the notes, (it wasn't even a proper letter and no names were actuall ynentioned). My partner and I are incensed and want the notes back as they are his propety and we feel that the area mamager is keeping something that she has no right to as the note s do not belong to her. Can she keep these notes? can anyone tell me?

For what it is worth, I reckon you can demand it back, but I'm sure you realise that you haven't a hope in hell of knowing that it hasn't been photocopied already. So, if you want to information back as it is useful to your case and you can't easily replicate it / remember it, then demand it back - but you have to assume you aren't now the only one with the information.
