Coast Guard

I've been thinking about joining the Coast Guard.. has anyone heard some ups and downs to this job?

An old family friend of mine is a coast guard. Ups are a cool van you can drive around with sirens on (joke!). Downs are pretty obvious I would presume - such as working shifts or being on-call. And the obvious danger aspect. Apparently, the paper-work side of the job is getting more laborious than it used to be. Very worthwhile career I would imagine though. Good on ya!
