Son has chicken pox and we're due to go on holiday.
My little boy is 22 months and has chicken pox. When I spoke the nhs direct they said it takes one or two days for rash to develope. He started coming out in spots late wednesday night and its now Sunday and has some new ones. I know he is still contagious until all have scabbed over but we're due to fly on Friday, do you think this is enough time to get scabby? He's ok in himself. Oh, also oatmeal baths - is ready break ok? As its fine oats. I'm sure I used baking soda when I had it but I remember it being like a white paste when mixed. I tried it but it didnt make a paste, any suggestions please? Tried Calamine. Sorry to waffle. x

an antihistamine like piriton will help to control the itching.
When my two got it it was 2 weeks to the day between the infections. I do recall that my sons spots had scabbed and started to heal over and scar by the time my daughter had it. So you may well be ok by Friday.
Baking soda in the bath should help
Have you got travel insurance if not? I do know of some parents who just covered their child up and risked it
