A paradigm is a framewok or set of assumptions within which people think. We all tend to think in paradigms. The word became fashionable in the 1960s with the publication of Thomas Kuhn's Structure of Scientific Revolutions, which suggested that paradigm shifts (like the introduction of the concept of relativity) change the way that we think as a whole.
