i want to get a job in the samaratins butdont know where to start???i know you dont get payed for it,but i am very interested,even tho i do have a job and im at college aswelll.im 18

Ring your local branch (in the phone book) and ask trhem when their next Recuitment Meeting is, and turn up. The Samaritans are always short of volunteers, the turn-over is high because of family and work commitments, plus, it's not for everyone. If you are accepted, you'll be trained for several weeks, and then 'listen in' to some calls, before being allowed to take your own, and again you will be monitored initially to make sure you are OK. It is immensely rewarding, but well worth the time and commitment. Good luck.
