My friend recently applied to become a police officer with north yorks police - she applied 2 months ago but hasn't heard anything back. Does this mean that she failed the application or would she receive a letter confirming that she didn't pass the application stage ? thanks

For a definitive answer I suggesr a phone call to the NYP
A lot of job applications say something along the lines of, "if you haven't heard from us within two weeks, assume your application has not been successful".
I think the police usually do let you know......given the nature of the job it may involve more checks on her than other jobs.
Yes I would think craft is right, lots of background checks going on if they want to take any application further. It wouldn't hurt to give them a ring though.
